OUR STORY

I’m a mom to three children, including my son Luke, who is neurodivergent. Everyday care routines like haircuts and nail trimming were overwhelming for him. These weren’t simple tasks. They were intense sensory experiences that pushed his nervous system past what he could handle.

One haircut changed everything. Luke’s nervous system reacted to the sound and sensation, and his dad’s nervous system reacted too. Neither of them understood what was happening in the moment. Two overwhelmed nervous systems collided, and the situation escalated faster than either could process. It became unsafe and resulted in harm, later documented by medical professionals and DCFS.

That experience made something clear. When neurodivergent children are pushed beyond their sensory capacity, and the adult supporting them becomes overwhelmed too, escalation is almost inevitable. No one is at fault. The tools and expectations simply weren’t designed for neurodivergent needs.

Whisper Wild was created to prevent moments like that. We design engagement‑first grooming tools that support regulation, connection, and safety. I’m building this for Luke, and for every child who deserves tools made for their nervous system and dignity.
